INCENTIVE: There are dangerous people on Earth constantly trying to kill his friends. He'd want that to stop, but also you know, going into another world is incentive enough on itself.
FIT: James started out as a shy nervous kid, and even though he has grown into an outwardly confident guy, he still doesn't consider himself great at relationships. Like, he was engaged and that didn't work out, and he likes Kara a lot but Kara is his bff's little cousin so he can't dive head first into a relationship with her, even though he'd like to. Thus Eudio is a good place to dip his fit back into the dating pool without getting serious about it.
